International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi hosted the second edition of its annual start-up summit - E-Merge '17 on January 7, 2017 at IMI-New Delhi campus. The event which offered a platform for discussion on the upcoming trends in the start-up ecosystem included successful entrepreneurs, company heads, leadership gurus and industry stalwarts.
The event commenced with the welcome speech of Prof Arvind Chaturvedi, Dean Academics and Alumni Relations, IMI-New Delhi. Whilst the Chief Guest for the event Mr Aseem Sood, CEO at Impact Research and Management Pvt Ltd, Director at AMEC and VP at FIBEP inspired the audience by sharing stories that inspired his course of life and highlighted the importance of asking for help as everybody can be a giver of something. The event also saw the presence of Dr DK Batra, Dean - Branding and Media Relations, IMI-New Delhi and Dr Irfan Rizvi, Professor - IMI who was also the moderator for the sessions.
It was followed by back-to-back panel discussions and entrepreneurial talks covering a wide gamut of food, online shopping space, car-pooling segment and IT sector related developments, issues and concerns surrounding its operations, possible strategies to tackle them and the entrepreneurial journey of the founders of a leading e-commerce firm and Start-up reality TV show.
The first panel discussion included eminent leaders namely Mr Ritesh Singh, Founder at #ARM Digital, Mr. Nitin Pandey, Founder at Parentune, Mr Dhruv Arora, Senior VP at Grofers, Mr Angad Bhatia, Founder of MensXP and Head at Times Internet.
The entrepreneurial talk session included Mr Ankur Warikoo, founder and CEO, GroupOn and NearBuy and Mr Anil Chhikara, Judge and Mentor at India' first start-up reality TV show and Mentor at Jaarvis Accelerator.
The second panel discussion witnessed the presence of Mr Sagar Daryani, Co-founder and CEO at Wow! Momo, Mr. Abheek Barman, Sr Editor at ET Now, Mr Saurabh Kochar, Founder at Foodpanda, Mr Arun Bhati, Founder at Orahi.com and Mr Neeraj Kumar Singhal, Angel Investors and CEO at SEMCO group.
