'Immature' Kejriwal capable of only staging 'dharnas': BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a tirade against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying they are only capable of carrying out 'dharnas' (agitations) as they have never done apart from that.

"Kejriwal doesn't know how to work. There is so much immaturity in his attitude as well as his ministers. He has never handled administration. He and his party are only capable of carrying out agitations as they have never done anything else," BJP leader Shazia Ilmi told ANI.

"He only keeps on raising fingers at others. The policies that he is making regarding pollution, dengue, roads, garbage, etc. all have been badly handled. Whatever promises he made before coming to power, none of them has been fulfilled," she added.

She also alleged that the AAP chief was only good at making false promises and carrying out 'dharnas' (agitations) and has been a complete failure as far as implementation of policies and handling administration was concerned.

"He is now against Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi. Earlier, he was against the Lieutenant Governor. And to add to that, he is always accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for everything," she said.

The BJP leader also dubbed the recent Lokpal Bill passed by the Delhi Government as 'Dhokapal.'

"The Lokpal that Arvind Kejriwal has brought is 'Dhokapal'. You can call it 'Jokepal' as well as 'Thopepal'," she said.

The Delhi Chief Minister has been facing criticism from the opposition parties over the Jan Lokpal Bill that was passed on Friday.

Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, who was once a prominent figure of the AAP, has dubbed the Jan Lokpal Bill passed by the Delhi Assembly as 'maha- jokepal', saying it lacks transparency and seems more of a government bill with the power in the hands of the politicians.

Activists of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) had also protested against the Jan Lokpal Bill and termed it a "Jokepal" and "Makhaulpal".

They dubbed Kejriwal as "corrupt", while accusing him of cheating the people of Delhi.

The Bill provides for an ombudsman with powers to act against any government functionary, including those at the Centre, in the national capital.

According to the Bill, the Lokpal will have to complete the investigation within a period of six months and assets accumulated through corrupt means will be confiscated.
