Taking a jibe at the Congress-Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance for the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Bhopal Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said the impure 'cycle-hand' alliance would not be able to win against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"It is an impure alliance. It is an alliance of selfish people. Had the work been done, then why would the cycle (SP) hold the hand (Congress). When they saw that they cannot win against Prime Minister Modi, they formed this impure alliance, which will fail completely," Chouhan said.
Taking strong offence to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's 'donkey' remark, Chouhan said somebody wrote it for the former and he said the same without giving a thought.
"Gujarat has a sanctuary which has famed wild asses and people buy tickets to visit it. It is good as it also provides employment. But Akhilesh would understand this as he has nothing to do with the youth and employment. Somebody wrote it for him and asked him to say it and he said it," he said.
Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win the mandate in Uttar Pradesh, Chouhan said the people have extended their support to the Prime Minister.
"There is a strong wave going on in support of the BJP. I can say it with confidence that the BJP is forming government in Uttar Pradesh with majority. The people are with Prime Minister Modi and the BJP."
Earlier on Monday, Akhilesh on Monday appealed 'Sadi ke Mahanayak' (without actually naming Amitabh Bachchan) not to campaign for Gujarat 'donkeys.'
"I would like to request the 'mahanayak' of the century (Amitabh Bachchan) not to campaign for donkeys of Gujarat. Those who have seen the advertisement will understand whom we are talking about," said Akhilesh while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli.
