Family of spinner Kuldeep Yadav celebrated his dream debut for Indian vs Australia Test match in Dharamsala yesterday, taking four wickets.
Proud with her son's performance, Usha Yadav told ANI, "We cannot describe how overwhelmed we are after hearing this news. I am really glad that my son got the opportunity and I wish he continues to perform in the similar manner in future also."
She added that Kuldeep has struggled a lot and the family has always encouraged him to work hard.
His childhood coach Kapil Pandey said, "He has struggled a lot since the time he started playing cricket. It was not easy to reach up to this level. Hard work for such a long period has paid him off."
He further said that playing for India is in itself a crucial part of any sports person and it is a very proud moment.
"I wish he pushes India towards victory and make it a memorable one," Pandey said.
Kuldeep was showered with praises by the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as he weaved a wrist spinner's web around the tourists during the decisive fourth Test in Dharamsala.
Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar expressed his admiration for the young bowler who managed to scalp four crucial wickets and spin Australia into trouble.
"I am impressed with @imkuldeep18's variations and the way he has started. Keep going strong, this can be your match to shine," Tendulkar tweeted.
India will resume their first inning of the fourth and final Test match against Australia at Dharamsala today.
Murali Vijay and Lokesh Rahul were at the crease at the close of the play yesterday.
