An index of the quality of later life has placed India at the 69th position among the 96 countries, suggesting that India is not too happy a place for older people.

According to the HelpAge International's Global AgeWatch Index, which measured the social and economic welfare of those over 60, Norway is the best place to grow old, followed by neighbor Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and Germany, BBC News reported.

Pakistan has secured the 91st position and Afghanistan has secured the last position in the rankings.
