In the wake of the recent terror attack in Baramulla and repeated ceasefire violations, the Congress Party on Tuesday warned Pakistan and said that New Delhi would give a befitting reply to Islamabad if it does not stop such activities.

"It is a matter of grave concern that terrorists attack the BSF camp in Baramulla and the RR camp and fled. One of our jawan's got killed. Also, there are regular ceasefire violations at the LoC," Congress leader PL Punia told ANI.

"I am happy that the Army chief paid to visit to Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the security situation. We are very much confident that the Indian armed forces are capable of handling any situation. If Pakistan continues to indulge in such activities, then I am sure a befitting reply would be given to them," he added.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday said that the security forces are giving a befitting reply to the terrorists from the other side of the border.

Singh, who is on a two-day visit to Leh and Ladakh to take stock of the situation, said that he would make all efforts to try and resolve the issues of the region.

The terrorists attacked near a camp of the 46 Rashtriya Rifles in Baramulla late on Sunday night.

Around three to four terrorists tried to enter the camp through a public park near it, but failed to breach the security.

Earlier, Pakistan targeted Indian posts along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor tehsil late Sunday evening.

Pakistan has stepped up cross-border firing after the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
