London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who arrived in Mumbai on Sunday as a part of his visit to India to boost economic and cultural ties, asserted that though terrorists try to divide humanities, they would never be able to defeat New Delhi and the British capital.

"My city, Mumbai, India, and Pakistan all suffer terrorism and I condemn it unequivocally. Terrorists try to divide humanities, they try to bring people apart. In my opinion, India would never be defeated by terrorism, London would not be defeated by terrorism and we would succeed and we support and learn from each other, so British Government works close with Indian Government to make sure we can learn from each other and to make our cities safe," Khan told ANI.

During his visit, Sadiq will visit Mumbai, Delhi and Amritsar in India before going on to Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi in Pakistan.

Sadiq will be accompanied by a delegation of U.K. business leaders and will meet with politicians, investors and entrepreneurs from across South Asia on the trip, which is aimed at strengthening trade and investment links as well as promoting cultural exchange.

The visit will focus on spreading the message that London is open to those looking to work, visit or study following the United Kingdom European Union membership referendum or the EU referendum, also known as the Brexit referendum.

Between 2005 and 2016, the U.K. was the second largest destination for Indian investment and 44 percent of the fastest growing Indian companies now have a base in London.
