Ace Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram crashed out of the Indonesia Grand Prix Gold after suffering a straight-game defeat against China's Yuqi Shi in the quarterfinals here on Friday.
The third-seeded Indian failed to continue his spirited performance as he was comfortably beaten by 11th-seeded Yuqi 12-21, 10-21 in a lopsided contest that lasted just 32 minutes.
With the defeat, the Indian challenge at the USD 120,000 tournament has come to an end.
Earlier on Thursday, Jayaram had trounced compatriot Parupalli Kashyap and local favourite Reksy Aureza Megananda to progress through to the quarterfinals of the men's singles event.
HS Prannoy, the 2014 champion, and B. Sai Praneeth had also ended their campaigns after losing their respective third round matches.
