Indian and Chinese soldiers, who are taking part in "Exercise Hand in Hand - 2013", practiced field firing using each other weapons and tested their physical endurance during an obstacle course.
On Sunday evening, soldiers of the two countries enjoyed a game of basketball in which Company A in red colour was declared the winner.
The directors of the joint training directing panel, Brigadier D.S. Shishodia, and his Chinese counterpart, Senior Colonel Jiang Zhaoyue visited the training areas of the two companies, and handed over prizes to the winners of the basketball match.
The contingent of the two nations have been mixed and re-organised into two companies. Troops from the two countries have been divided into two companies - A and B. Company A consists of two platoons of the Chinese Army and one platoon of the Indian Army, whereas Company B consists of one platoon of the Chinese Army and two platoons of the Indian Army.
During the day, the two contingents learned about each other's firing drills and how to use their weapons. These were rehearsed and practiced with mutual understanding, thereby refining their skills.
The companies were divided into small teams fully equipped to operate in counter terrorism environment. These special trainings for this exercise purpose will be used for the live exercise to be held in the later phases.
After the initial familiarisation with weapon and equipment of both armies, the joint training exercise would advance to joint tactical exercise, wherein the battle drills of both armies are coherently unleashed.
