Excited after seeing Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Germany, the Indian community in Hannover expressed hope that he would bring the required changes in India and fulfil their expectations.
"Every Indian has an excitement to meet Mr. Modi because we have hopes that he will bring the changes to India. That is what we are expecting from Modi. I think he will fulfil our expectations," said Vindiya Seshu, a software engineer.
Another expat recalled former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said it was almost after ten years that an Indian Prime Minister is telling the people how to make India a better country.
"When I was in my college time, I think. Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the most intelligent person who told us how to make India a better country. And then from the last 10 years the other government, a lot of people were dissatisfied. And then this guy came, who has a reputation of winning straight forward in his state," he said.
The expat hailed Prime Minister Modi's 'Make in India' initiative, saying it will definitely benefit the Indian economy.
"This concept of 'Make in India' is really important because I still remember during the Diwali time where he said try not to buy the products of another country because if you buy from another country, you are increasing their economy, but what about our economy," he added.
Prime Minister Modi had earlier vowed to remove unnecessary regulations and procedures to simplify the process of foreign investment in India.
He also vowed to make it easier for other countries to initiate business deals, while inaugurating the Hannover Messe Fair.
Prime Minister Modi also attended a round table conference with German CEOs.
The Prime Minister arrived in Germany earlier today on the second leg of his three-nation tour.
