Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday singed the 'Golden Book', consisting of the signatures of all the honoured guests of Hamburg, at the Hannover city hall and thanked Germany for giving him a warm welcome.
"I am thankful to the Mayor of Hanover that he honored and welcomed the representative of a country with population of 125crore. I am also thankful that he honored me in a building which is over 102 years old," the Prime Minister said.
Targeting the Indian students in Germany, he said that the Indian youth is making a mark in the world.
"India is a land of ample opportunities. Modern India is walking towards development with its cultural heritage. The Indian youth is making a mark in the world, in information technology sector," he added.
The Prime Minister was welcomed by a cheering crowd on his arrival at the city hall.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi attended a round table conference with German CEOs. Voith CEO Dr.Hubert Lienhard and CEO of Bombardier Transportation, Lutz Bertling, were among the few who held a meeting with the Prime Minister.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin shared details about the Prime Minister's meeting via twitter.
"Movers and shakers of German economy/industry meet with PM @narendramodi," he tweeted.
"Business is 1st in order of priority. PM @narendramodi assisted by @CimGOI engages with German business leaders," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hannover, earlier on Sunday, the second leg of his three-nation, nine-day tour, after concluding a successful visit to France.
During his visit to Germany, Prime Minister Modi will be present at the opening ceremony of the 2015 edition of the Hannover Messe business fair, for which India is the partner country.
He will later unveil a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hannover, before holding talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
