Serbian world number two Novak Djokovic has pulled out of this week's Madrid Open Masters event, as he continues to nurse an injured right wrist.
The injury was acquired at last month's Monte Carlo Masters where he lost to Roger Federer in the semi-finals.
Sport24 quoted Djokovic, as saying that he hoped to be back for the Rome Masters starting next Sunday.
Had he played in Madrid, Djokovic would have had a chance to topple world number one Rafa Nadal.
