India's leading public policy think tank, Centre for Civil Society, has formally announced the second edition of the international short film competition "EduDoc" which is open for submissions till October 30.

The theme for this year's edition is 'Education: Challenges, Innovations, Celebrations'. The winning entries will be screened during the 'School Choice National Conference' at the India Habitat Centre on December 3, 2016. The films can be of five minutes or less.

Formally announcing the film competition, Amit Chandra, Associate Director, Centre for Civil Society, said: "Post the resounding success of 'Jeevika: Asia Livelihood Documentary Film Festival' capturing livelihood challenges faced by the rural and urban poor, we thought of highlighting the challenges and rewarding the innovations in the education sector in order to inspire more such stories and edupreneurs. Hence, evolved the idea of 'EduDoc' international film festival last year."

Chandra further said the specialty of this short film competition is that it is focuses on the subject rather than the technology aspect of the films.

"The participants need to have a good subject, story and content. If anyone knows a good story relating to education, its challenges, he may even shoot it on his mobile camera and send it to us. This audio visual medium is a powerful tool in today's tech savvy world which will help bringing isolated stories to the fore," he added.
