Indian pace spearhead Ishant Sharma has been left out of Delhi's Ranji Trophy squad after failing to confirm his participation, chairman of selectors Vinay Lamba has said.
"He (Ishant) didn't answer our call nor responded to my text," Lamba was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

When asked if Ishant had expressed his unwillingness to play, Lamba said, "He is our senior bowler, how can we say that about him? But we tried to get in touch with him yesterday, but he didn't respond. I left a text, but didn't get a reply."
Veteran all-rounder Rajat Bhatia has also been dropped. The selectors have appointed Gautam Gambhir as the captain of the side.
Ishant, who recently had a successful Test series in Sri Lanka, was not picked in India's limited-overs sides to play South Africa.
