The head of Germany's domestic intelligence agency has reportedly said that the militant group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has been attracting more youths in comparison to other terror outfits because of its "brutality, radicalism and rigour."

Hans-Georg Maassen, head of Germany's BfV domestic intelligence agency, said yesterday that the atrocity unleashed by the ISIS makes it seem more authentic than Al Qaeda or its affiliate, Jabhat al-Nursa. He added that the militant group has almost become the "in" thing today, reported The Independent.

Maassen noted that there is a link between ISIS' successes in Iraq and its propaganda and canvassing activities that target possible young jihadists in Germany. While he pegged the number of those who have left Germany to join the ISIS in Iraq and Syria at 400, he admitted that there may be people who will come back to plan attacks on home soil.
