People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir did not want to elect a coalition government, adding that the state wanted to see party leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as their chief minister.
"The people of the state are in mood to see Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as their leader and I don't think they want to see a coalition government," Mehbooba told ANI.
The fourth phase of the legislative assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir saw only 24.58 percent of voters exercise their democratic right as of 12 noon.
Sixteen constituencies spread over the three districts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Shopian in Kashmir, as well as two seats in the Samba district of Jammu went to polls in this phase.
The final phase of the elction w2ill take place on December 20, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on December 23.
