Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has adopted four villages in Gujarat's Vadodara District as part of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Jaitley confirmed the adoption of the villages of Karnali, Pipaliya, Valida and Baglipura.
The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day speech last year.
The scheme calls on and encourages Members of Parliament of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to identify and develop one village from their constituency as a model village. The scheme is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Clean India" campaign.
