National Executive of the Janata Dal (United) is meeting in the national capital this afternoon. The new election symbol and party's strategy for expansion of its base will be finalised during the two day meet.
This is the first meeting of the national executive after the party's victory in Bihar Assembly elections in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and party president Sharad Yadav will also address the meeting.
According to sources, the party is all set to adopt a wheel as its new symbol in place of arrow. In the previous elections, JD(U) candidates had lost several seats due to confusion among voters over almost similar election symbols of Shiv Sena and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
