Following the allegations of sexual harassment against its star, the writers of the hit series 'Transparent' are working on writing Jeffrey Tambor's character out of the series.
According to Deadline, the writers on the award-winning series were already working on Season 5 when word dropped that Tambor is being investigated by the network after claims of sexual harassment were made against him.
The writers have examined the situation and they are reportedly moving forward with the fifth season, which was ordered by Amazon ahead of the season-four premiere, without Tambor's character, Maura Pfefferman.
This decision comes after the allegations that have been made against the 63 years old actor by his former assistant, Van Barnes.
Few days back, a second woman, Tambor's transgender co-star Trace Lysette, has accused the actor of sexual assault.
In a Facebook post, she claimed inappropriate behaviour that Tambor allegedly engaged in while she worked with him.
Lysette, who plays yoga instructor Shea in the show, claims Tambor pressed up against her in a sexual way during filming and repeatedly made lewd sexually suggestive remarks.
She said she felt his p**** against her as he made "quick, discreet thrusts" at her body after standing on her feet.
Tambor has since denied all of these claims. He issued a statement, which read, "I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her. I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation."
Fans of Tambor have been particularly upset about these accusations, as he's been such a staunch and brilliant supporter of the trans community, and the wider LGBT+ community.
