The recent alliance between the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress has been described as 'opportunistic' by Rajiv Pratap Rudy, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speaking here today, Rudy said that there will not be any permanency in Jharkhand.
"JMM allying with the ruling Congress is against the norms and also opportunistic and for sure there won't be any permanency in the Jharkhand government. In the last 12 years Jharkhand has seen nine governments. It lacks credibility and transparency. The President should immediately order the dissolution of the Jharkhand assembly. Fresh elections should be held in Jharkhand," said Rudy.
The Congress had earlier on Friday agreed to be a junior partner in a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition in Jharkhand as part of a deal in which the tribal outfit will support Congress candidates for elections in 10 of the 14 LokSabha seats in the state in 2014.
As part of the agreement shaped by Congress's bid to fortify its flanks ahead of the next year's polls, the party has decided to support JMM chief Shibu Soren's son Hemant's bid to be chief minister.
