Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has said that the 'magnitude' of the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson from the post of manager of the club was 'underestimated' following the side's 2-1 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur at home in the Premier League.
United is 11 points behind leaders Arsenal in seventh position with fears over their qualification for the Champions League next season
According to The Independent, the Irishman said that as a player, he probably did not realise the magnitude of Ferguson's retirement until he stepped back and looked at the situation as an outsider.
Meanwhile, current United boss David Moyes will not be charged by the Football Association (FA) for his criticism that some of the referee's decisions were 'scandalous' in the match against Spurs, the report added.
