Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday condoled the loss of lives following the train derailment in Karnataka and called for immediate assistance to those injured in the untoward accident.
"My prayers this morning also with victims of the Duronto train accident in K'taka.I hope the injured are being provided immediate assistance," he tweeted.
At least two passengers died and eight others injured after nine coaches of the Duranto Express going from Secunderabad to Mumbai derailed in Karnataka early this morning.
The accident took place around 2 am at Martur village station in Gulbarga district, near the Maharashtra-Karnataka border.
