Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'formal stand' on the issue of government formation in Delhi.
Kejriwal in his letter said the AAP has already made its stand clear, and added that the BJP should do the same now.
"BJP has conveyed "informally" to LG and media that they are not in a position to form government in Delhi. What is BJP's "formal" stand?" tweeted Kejriwal.
"BJP shud make public the letter that they gave to LG, if any. LG shud first "formally" invite BJP(largest party), seek their "formal" stand, make it public, then invite next party, the way he did in Dec," he added.
The Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to hold an all party meeting later in the day to discuss the issue of government formation in Delhi.
Delhi has been under President's Rule since February after Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government stepped down after remaining in power for 49 days.
The BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal combine has 29 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. The alliance had won 32 seats in the Delhi Assembly polls held last year, but three BJP MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha in the general elections. The AAP had won 28 seats in the polls.
