At least 20 persons were injured and one was critical following a stampede at the Sabarimala temple in Kerala on Sunday.

Ayyappa Dharma Sena president Rahul Easwar said most of the pilgrims belong to Andhra.

Easwar said that the police has initiated crowd control measures, adding that situation is under control now.

All the injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

There was extra rush at the popular temple because the Ayyappa idol was adorned with the Thanga Angi jewels during the evening puja.
