The Kerala High Court (HC) on Saturday ordered police protection for a family in Kannur after they filed a complaint alleging they have received threats from radical groups demanding to hand over their 24-year-old daughter to a person named Aneez.
The family had earlier approached the High Court stating that their daughter was missing since May 16, 2017.
The Pariyaram Police later submitted a report that the girl was allegedly converted to Islam by a man named Aneez.
The girl was then produced in the Pariyaram judicial first class magistrate court and was handed over to her parents after the court considered the stance of the girl, who then decided to stay with the parents.
However, Aneez later filed a complaint with Pariyaram police alleging that she was forcefully detained by her parents.
