New Zealand has won the two-Test series against India 1-0 after drawing the second Test with the visitors in Wellington on the fifth day.
Although India had almost won the Test on day three when they reduced the hosts to 94 for five in their second innings at the Basin Reserve, however, Kiwi captain Brendon McCullum turned the game on its head after he, along with BJ Watling and James Neesham, posted the team's highest ever Test innings score of 680/8.
According to Stuff.co.nz, while doing so, McCullum broke the record for the highest Test innings score by a New Zealand batsman - eclipsing Martin Crowe's 299 - with his well compiled 302.
The report mentioned that McCullum was at the crease for nearly 13 hours, creating another Test batting record for his country, adding that the draw in this match, along with the 40-run NZ win in the first Test at Eden Park, meant that India has now gone 14 Tests without a win away from home.
Tuesday's game ended 15 overs early, with India 144 for three, having been set a purely nominal 435 in 67 overs, the report added.
