V.M. Sudheeran resigned as Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president on health grounds on Friday.
Sudheeran declared his decision at KPCC headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram.
The resignation letter will be given to the All-India Congress Committee President Sonia Gandhi later in the day.
Sudheeran to resign after serving for three years and one month in the chair.
He had recently suffered a fall in Kozhikode and doctors had advised rest.
