Senior lawyer KTS Tulsi on Wednesday extended his support to the Delhi Government's 'odd-even car' formula to curb the menace of rising pollution in the national capital and said that every measure should be adopted to decrease the number of cars on the roads.

"Every measure should be adopted to decrease the number of cars on the roads. There should be a National Transport Policy. Unless and until the polluting vehicles are removed, the quality of diesel is improved; it would be very hazardous to us and our children," Tulsi said ANI.

"Whatever steps are taken in this regard, I will support that," he added.

The Delhi Government had yesterday announced that the final proposal on the odd-even formula would be out by December 25.

"Final proposal on odd-even formula will be out by December 25. It will be implemented from January 1, 2016, applicable from 8 am to 8 pm, exempting Sunday," Delhi's Transport and Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai told a press conference.

He also asserted that cars with even numbers would be allowed to ply on even dates and those with odd numbers on odd dates.

The odd-even formula was among a series of measures announced at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday after the National Green Tribunal pulled up the Delhi Government for failing to curb air pollution.
