Congress leader Manish Tewari on Saturday said that a Karnataka House Panel's statement linking the use of mobile phones to the increase in the number of rapes is weird and laughable.
"Technology makes things easy. Today, the common person can talk with any person in the country through it. Linking use of mobile phones to increasing number of rapes is weird and laughable," said Tewari.
A house committee of the Karnataka legislative assembly has recommended the state government to ban mobile phones in schools and colleges as according to them it was responsible for an increase in number of rape and molestation cases.
