Member of Parliament from Ferozpur constituency, Sher Singh Ghubaya on Monday resigned from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ahead of the 2019 general elections.

According to Ghubaya, he resigned from the party owing to ideological differences.

SAD had already been suspended Ghubaya from the party.

Ghubaya won first Lok Sabha elections in 2009.

SAD is a part of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance.
