Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon is itching to get back on to the field and is confident that he can use the lessons learned in the United Arab Emirates to bounce back.

Lyon, who became the father of a second daughter while touring the UAE, would travel to Brisbane with the domestic side NSW Blues for their Sheffield Shield match against Queensland at the Gabba, starting on Sunday.

He said that it's been really enjoyable to be at home for a couple of days after a long stint away from home, but added that he is looking forward to getting back into cricket come Sunday, News.com.au reported.

The off-spinner stated that they have sat down as a group and as individuals and thought about what they could have done and what they learned, that's the biggest thing.

Lyon took just three wickets in Australia's two-Test series against Pakistan and admits that there is no point hiding behind the fact that it was a poor tour. He could come under some pressure for the first Test against India in December, but said that he is confident he would be able to get the job done.
