Backing Jenson Button, two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso has admitted that he hopes to see Briton remaining in Formula One next season.
The Spaniard believes that Button is a very talented driver who doesn't need to prove anything as a world champion. He further said that it would be good for their sports if Button stays as people really like him, The Mirror reported.
Refuting allegations that he had any role in the decision making process at McLaren, he said that the decision on Button's stay has to be decided by McLaren only, thereby denying any involvement in their decision making.
Meanwhile, the McLaren are trying their best to push Alonso, declaring his move from Ferrari before Abu Dhabi a week on Sunday, writes Byron Young.
