Dixit, who was born on May 15, 1967, entered the film industry at the age of 17 and became the nation's heartthrob in the years to come.
The actress, who has starred in more than 100 films, has won 5 Filmfare awards and was also honored with a Padma Shri in 2008, for her contribution to Indian cinema.
After getting married to Dr Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon based in US in the year 1999, she shifted with her husband and has two sons.
The actress made a comeback with the 2007 movie 'Aaja Nachle', which failed to create any magic at the box office.
The ' Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' star returned to India with her husband and two sons in October 2011.
Even at 46, the actress is in demand and has signed two films, 'Dedh Ishqiya' and 'Gulab Gang', and has prominent roles in both the movies.
