Maharashtra Chief Minister designate Devendra Fadnavis participated in the 'Run for Unity' marathon near Hotel Trident here on Friday.
Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao flagged off the event which was also attended by Union Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar.
Fadnavis, who will be sworn-in as the first BJP Chief Minister of Maharashtra today, said he was ready to take forward Prime Minister Modi's message of unity in the country.
He also lauded Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his enormous contribution towards the unity and integrity of the nation.
Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also flagged off the 'Run for Unity' programme in Ahmedabad, Raipur and Bhopal respectively.
