Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced the Run for Unity programme from Vijay Chowk, President Pranab Mukherjee also flagged off a similar run from Rashtrapati Bhawan on the occasion of the 139th birth anniversary of India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The programme which commenced at Vijay Chowk, witnessed the participation of hundreds of supporters, including Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu and boxer Vijender Singh.
Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel also flagged off a 'Run for Unity' in Ahmedabad.
