Doctors in Maharashtra called off their strike on Friday after a majority of their demands were accepted by the government.

Over 4,000 resident doctors in Maharashtra, demanding certain amenities from the government, had resorted to a strike yesterday.

Most hospitals in Mumbai, including the state run JJ, Nair, Sion and KEM had reportedly deployed senior doctors to handle the situation, while lecturers and other doctors were asked to work extra hours so that the patients did not face inconvenience.
