Manchester City produced a clinical performance to go on top of the Premier League table after defeating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park.

Following a goalless first half, City broke the deadlock when Aleksandar Kolarov put the tourists ahead in the 60th minute before substitute Samir Nasri doubled the lead two minutes before the final whistle.

Although the match saw an evenly contested first 45 minutes, City eventually produced a superior performance to upstage their opponents, the BBC reported.

City maintain the top spot after winning three games in a row, and are two points ahead of second-placed Leicester and third-placed Manchester United.
