One man has been detained for allegedly raping a Malaysian tourist in Jaipur.

According to reports, the woman has told the police that the man took her to an isolated place where he gave her a spiked drink and allegedly raped her.

The accused, however, denied the allegations and said that the woman had planned everything in advance.

Activist Ranjana Kumari termed this rape case as an "extremely serious matter" and stated that India's image in the world is deteriorating rapidly.

The news of rape has come after a spate of crimes against women has been reported from various quarters.

Two teenage girls were gangraped and hung from a tree in Badaun, UP and a woman was shot dead by militants in Meghalaya after she resisted their molestation attempts.
