Wayne Rooney scored his first goal of the summer as Manchester United gained their best pre-season victory so far by beating European champions Barcelona 3-1 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Rooney ended an eight-match goalless run as he put his side into the lead with his eighth-minute header from Ashley Young's corner, the BBC reported.
United doubled their lead in the match thanks to Jesse Lingard's shot from inside the box, just past the hour mark.
Rafinha's goal in the dyeing moment of the game did give Barca a glimmer of hope, but Adnan Januzaj hit back instantly to give Louis van Gaal his third win of the club's pre-season tour of the United States.
United will play their last match of the pre-season campaign against Paris St-Germain in Chicago on 29 July.
