Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been praised by the club's chief Ed Woodward for guiding his side inch closer to a top-four finish in the Premier League table.
United have all but qualified for the Champions League under Van Gaal, something which they failed to do when the Dutchman's sacked predecessor David Moyes was in charge of the club.
Woodword said that he was pleased with the team's performance in Louis van Gaal's first season as manager and are well positioned to achieve a top four finish in the Premier League and to return to European football next year, Sport24 reported.
He added that they are prepared for the next season and would like to be competitive in all the tournaments and on the commercial side they were excited by the numerous opportunites for further growth, including the first year of their 10-year deal with Adidas.
