The Manipur Directorate of Information and Public Relations on Wednesday observed the National Press Day at first Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall.
On this occasion, Manipur Governor Najma A. Heptulla, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, IAS, Commissioner IPR K. Radhakumar Singh and Director, DIPR K. Meghachandra Singh graced the observation function as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
As many as eight journalists of the state media were awarded the State Journalist Award 2016.
As a part of the event, a workshop on "Reporting from Conflict Area, a Challenge to the Media" was also conducted where AK. Sanaton was the moderator.
