Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers staged a protest outside Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra's residence on Monday, even as the latter said he supported their demand for salary reimbursements.
"If by becoming happy about you throwing garbage outside my house, the people of BJP give you your pending salaries, then I will be glad that I came of use to you," read a poster put up by his supporters.
The showdown between the AAP Government and the BJP-led municipal corporations over funding of salaries escalated further as city-wide protests marked the sixth day of a civic workers' strike, leaving roads strewn with garbage and several hospitals locked.
