Maintaining the suspense over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir, People's Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that she would move ahead in this regard only after there is a positive initiative towards 'agenda of alliance'.
"It is often thought that we Kashmiris do not keep our word. My father's word will be kept. When he forged an alliance with NDA, with BJP, there was an agenda of alliance. We have decided on some programmes," she told the media on the sidelines of the PDP membership drive here.
"Some initiatives need to be taken with regard to the agenda of alliance that was formed. When there is positive initiative towards that then I will move ahead with Mufti sahib's wish," she added.
Earlier, the PDP had indicated to continue the alliance with the BJP and said that it would go ahead with if the agenda of alliance framed under the leadership of former chief minister Late Mufti Mohamed Sayeed was implemented in letter and spirit.
Mehbooba had said that her party would take a call on government formation as and when it was confident that the vision and mission of the former chief minister will be carried forward and implemented with the clear support of BJP.
Former deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh had said last week both the BJP and PDP were on the same page, adding the agenda of alliance is still intact.
"The people and political parties it's whether the PDP or the BJP, they are thinking on the same line that there should be government. Our stand is clear from very first day that this alliance is intact, it was made on the basis of agenda of alliance," Singh told ANI.
