Armed militants killed five security personnel in Pakistan's southwestern province, Balochistan, said officials.
Gunmen attacked a check post of the Frontier Corps paramilitary force in resource-rich Dukki area of Balochistan. The gunmen were armed with automatic weapons, said a security official.
The official said that an FC soldier sustained serious bullet wounds during the incident. The attackers immediately escaped from the spot in their vehicles, he added.
The injured soldier was hospitalized within minutes, reports the Dawn.
As investigation was in progress, the large contingent of Frontier Corps and local administration reached the spot.
However, there was no claim of responsibility immediately.
The area is rich in coal and mineral resources where the paramilitary FC force was deployed.
