General elections will see participation of eunuchs, who have decided to jump into the poll fray and give a fight to the prime ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Narendra Modi from Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Kamla, a eunuch candidate from Varanasi, claimed that no politician has done much for their community and they shall continue to fight their own battle.
"Yes we will fight and contest elections , because neither has Congress nor any other politician has done anything for the welfare of the eunuchs here; the people are our parents, we live because of the people and we will fight for them," she said.
Kamla said their election symbol is likely to be a red dot or a bangle, which would define their cause.
Vikram Bhardwaj who is managing their election campaign said that BJP felt it was a challenge that the eunuch community was contesting the elections.
"Recently, there was a convention of eunuchs held in Gorakhpur, as soon as the news spread through the media about a candidate named Kamla Kinnar who is contesting elections against Narendra Modi, they sent the mayor of the place Satya Pandey there, Satya Pandey tried to bribe us by offering money and aked not to fight elections against Narendra Modi. I think that Congress, Arvind Kejriwal, BJP is scared of them," Bhardwaj said.
Other candidates who are likely to contest apart from Modi from Varanasi include regional Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal and gangster turned politician Mukhtar Ansari from regional Quami Ekta Dal party.
