Manchester United boss David Moyes wants Aston Villa's Belgian centre-forward Christian Benteke in his team as the next No.9, and is a huge fan of the 'beast'.
According to the Mirror, The Scot knows his attack lacks the option of height and strength and may lose Wayne Rooney's 'muscle' with his contract running out.
Moyes made a personal check on Benteke, 22, on Friday against Scotland, the report said.
Villa gave Benteke a 60,000 pounds-a-week deal in July after he asked to leave, but boss Paul Lambert knows it is inevitable he will field big offers for the coveted hitman, the report added.
Benteke is an option in the next couple of windows for United and would even be eligible for Europe if United plunge in January, the report further said.
