MP Ninong Ering flays China, lauds Centre's stand on Arunachal

Castigating China for opposing development of border areas in Arunachal Pradesh, Lok Sabha member Ninong Ering today reiterated that the Himalayan state is an indivisible part of India.

Addressing the inaugural function of 'Yuva for Seva' camp, attended by about 500 youths from all over the state here today, Ering lauded the central government, particularly Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his bold stand in announcing a slew of projects to develop and protect the international border.

Singh as well as the central government deserves appreciation for not only for defending Arunachal but also for appointing an Arunachalee as home minister (MoS Kiren Rijiju), he said and called upon all sections of Arunachal for raising strong protest against China's stand.

"You are the future of Arunachal... India and need to change your attitude whether to hide like a bird in the nest or fly above the cloud like a kite during rain", he told the gathering including senior citizens.

Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharat Swachh Abhiyan as a good beginning, he said, if the people join the move India would become clean and free from unhygienic living condition.

"We are no way inferior to anyone", Ering said by citing Arunachalee Everesters Anshu Jamsenpa, Tapi Mra and Tine Mina, boxer Mary Kom, footballer Baichung Bhutia, all from North East India, as national role models. He termed Arunachalees patriots and urged them to prove it in their all actions.

Expressing concern over racial discrimination, Ering questioned whether the Mizos having no talking terms with the Nagas in New Delhi and non-Arunachalees being called as Haying, Nipak, Haring etc. in this state was racial discrimination or not. However, he called for strong laws to end racial discrimination.

Terming mountaineering as extreme adventure, Jamsenpa, the only woman in the world to conquer the Everest thrice, said that the sports having socio-economic benefits taught her discipline, team spirit, endurance and ability to overcome all self-weaknesses. "It's not the mountain we conquer but ourselves," she quoted Sir Edmund Hillary as saying.

People were discouraging which had strengthened her determination to create record, she said, adding "If you have determination, you can achieve anything irrespective of caste, sex and age". She however stressed on moral and social values for nation building.

Arunachal Pradesh has over 1,000 km unexplored Himalayas which provides enough scope for mountaineering, she said, adding the adventure sport would generate employment and economic benefits.

The patriotic song of Arunachalee proves future of India is bright, said Ranjana Kardikar, all India joint incharge, women wing of Akil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA).

ABVKA formed in 1952, known as Arunchal Vikas Parishad (AVP) in the state, has been consistently working in numerous fields throughout the country including North East India for man making to help flourish humanity and integrity of the nation, she said, and exhorted the youth to take a vow to work for development of the society and the nation.

Underscoring the role of indigenous population living in this nation for ages, she lauded Jamsenpa as a role model who won global laurels for India.

Earlier, camp's organizing committee chairman Kipa Babu said the three-day camp organized by the AVP aimed at consolidating nationalistic ideology among the youths.
