President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a museum of his mementos and memorabilia at Kirnahar Shiv Chandra School in Birbhum district of West Bengal.
Mukherjee is a former student of the school, having studied there from 1946 to 1952.
Speaking on the occasion, Mukherjee recalled his school days and referred to some former students who have made distinct contributions in academic and political fields.
Mementos, memorabilia, admission registers, registers containing results of exams in the schools etc. are on display in the museum.
Apart from the register recording the President's admission into the school, the register recording his father, freedom fighter Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee's admission, is also one of the exhibits in the museum.
