Britain number one Andy Murray has apparently jolted down motivational notes to inspire himself before his Rotterdam quarter-final defeat against Gilles Simon, according to a Twitter post by a sports journalist.

The handwritten tips like 'be good to yourself', 'try your best' was an attempt to motivate himself, the BBC reported.

However, Murray lost the clash 6-4 6-2 to Simon.

Earlier this year, Murray climbed back into the fourth spot in the ATP rankings after finishing runner-up at Australian Open in Melbourne.
