Murray urges crowd to help him end Britain's Wimbledon jinx

British tennis ace Andy Murray has urged the crowd at Wimbledon to help him to victory this year, adding that his time has finally come to end the Britain's jinx and win at the All England Club.

According to the Daily Star, the world No.2 faces Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the fourth round on Monday, aiming to become the first men's singles winner at SW19 since the late Fred Perry's hat trick of titles from 1934 to 1936.

The report further said that the Scot, who is yet to drop a set in this year's Championship, was in impressive form on Friday as he defeated Spaniard Tommy Robredo 6-2 6-4 7-5 in the third round.

Murray, who spent part of his day off on Saturday in the Royal Box thanks to his Olympic exploits last year, said that although it is his job to play well in the tournament, he believes that if the crowd is behind him in his matches, it will help him raise his game and improve his performance.

However, Murray further said that although the support he receives from the home crowd will be a big help, it would not decide whether he wins the title next Sunday.

Despite his heartbreak at last year's Wimbledon, when he lost in four sets to Swiss ace Roger Federer and the pain he showed during his on-court interview after that match, Murray may never have a better chance to win at the All England Club with Federer and Rafael Nadal already out of the tournaments.

Meanwhile, the 2012 Olympics and US Open champion is in a confident mood ahead of his clash with Youzhny, mainly because of his gold medal-winning performance on Centre Court last summer.

According to Murray, it was the ten best days of his career, adding that he does not believe that he will ever be able to top that period.
